In this project, students will view and discuss the eclipse.
This project connects American high school students in Stanford University's Reischauer Scholars Program with Japanese high school students in Keio University's American Studies Program.
In this project, students at Expressions Learning Arts Academy Elementary School in Florida and Matsunaga Elementary School in Fukushima get to know one another.
Share your food culture with your peers at home and abroad. What are your favorite foods? What are typical meals in your home/neighborhood/country? What do you typically eat at holidays? Share recipes, and even try to make something new!

Students will form a group with Japanese students (4-5) and create a promotional video clip together in English and Japanese. American students will create a clip to be used to promote their Japanese program, with the help of Japanese students. Japanese students will create a clip to encourage their friends to study English. American students will help Japanese students by giving ideas, editing and correcting the English of the clip created by Japanese students, and vise versa.
This project is limited to students from Takayama and International School of the Americas.
GOAL: The students will illustrate examples of a typical day and interpret images from their peers in other geographic areas and countries. In addition to understanding similarities and differences across regions the students will improve language skills. Students will gain greater understanding of their own and other cultures.

The Introduction Project will provide the opportunity for students from Japan, Pakistan, and America to share their traditions, culture, and daily lives with each other. Through this project, it will give students the chance to reflect on their own cultural practices as well.
Land development can affect local weather and climate. Is your community rural, suburban, or urban? Is your community affected by the urban heat island? Can new building technologies make development more sustainable? Are there natural solutions to the urban heat island effect? Share photos, weather data, surface heating experiment data, and observations. Suggest ideas to mitigate the effects of the urban heat island on weather and climate. What does the future city look like?

What’s going on in your community? What is happening in the world? How do you feel about it? You will present a current issue that you are interested in, share the news article and images relating to the topic, express your opinion on the subject and invite others to join a discussion/debate regarding the issue.
This course lays out the time line for contact days between Misato and Winona students involved in the student exchange during 2011-2012.
The main components are the video introductions, a town view produced by visiting Ambassadors and skype calls.

Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) in New York, USA and Meidai Fuzoku Secondary School (MFSS) in Nagoya, Japan are developing a science education exchange program that allows students in New York and Nagoya to collaborate on a joint science research project while at the same time learning about the education system and culture of their exchange partners.
Students exchange the images and texts that represent who they are and what their dreams are, and exchange comments individually and also as a group. Then they will exchange images of what they regard as “beauty” and explain why. After exchanging comments and comparing each other’s perception of beauty, they will write a composition on differences and similarities of beauty as perceived in Japan and America.

What are your hopes and dreams? Using art, video, photo or any other medium, creatively represent your hopes and dreams. After viewing art submitted by your peers abroad, choose one and respond to it artistically, in writing or orally.
Here’s your chance to meet tweens and teens who live in other countries! Introduce yourself either in writing or with a 3-minute maximum voice or video clip, remembering to please speak clearly for those who are learning your language. Digitally document a day in the life of your school or town, and then create an online exhibition about teen life in another country. First, work with your classmates to choose the photos, videos and electronic resources that best represent your school or town. Share them with the other classes, but leave all resources unlabeled and without written or oral descriptions! Next, use the resources provided by another class to make an online exhibition about a day in the life of their school or town. Be sure to communicate with them to make your exhibition as accurate as possible and to request further resources!
Use Going Global to connect with middle and high school classes overseas and at home, communicate with peers and collaborate on projects. Using a child-safe social networking platform, Going Global allow students for Japan, the United States, and Pakistan to work together on a variety of fun and educational projects related to their school’s activities.
